at the historic Königstadt Brewery in the heart of Berlin.

This event will feature a series of 12 life-size oil paintings that delve into the depths of the human spirit. Each painting serves as a portal to a mystical world where time both stands still and pulses with urgency.
Created over the course of five years and during lockdown, these paintings invite viewers on an introspective journey. Amidst vibrant colors and sophisticated chaos, van de Griend’s solitary protagonists are embedded in multi-layered references and imbued with playful dark humor.
This multidimensional series seeks to unravel the enigma of existence, exploring themes that transcend science and philosophy. The works challenge and enlighten, offering a transformative journey of self-discovery.
The paintings will be shown in a hauntingly beautiful, cavernous underground space beneath the streets of Berlin, transformed for this occasion to promise an unforgettable art experience.
